Register Now for Asheville's Fall Outdoor Inline-Hockey League, Deadline on September 11

The Asheville Hockey League is currently accepting registrations for the outdoor in-line hockey fall league. To register, visit www.ashevillehockey.org. Registration closes on September 11.

Inline hockey is a sport similar to ice hockey but played with inline skates. Like its parent sport, skaters on two teams use hockey sticks to direct a disk-shaped puck into the opponent's goal; however, various details of the game, such as the playing surface and puck design, have been adjusted to allow the use of inline skates at above-freezing temperatures.

The fall season runs September through December at Carrier Park. Youth games are played on Saturday with a weekday practice, and adults play during the week. Registration fee for all ages is $55, with a $5 non-city resident fee.

For information on city athletic leagues, contact Mark Halstead at 828-251-4024 or mhalstead@ashevillenc.gov.
